This is how panic gets a good toe hold. It increases the amount of adrenaline in the blood which will make the unwanted strange feelings become even more frightening.

We call this the cycle of fear. It goes on and on as it builds more adrenaline causing fear. Every little bit of fear causes larger amounts of adrenaline flow. This adrenaline eventually brings the anxiety sufferer more awful feelings and more adrenaline brings on even more awful feelings.

What is needed is a reversal to the cycle of fear. This can be accomplished by understanding it is adrenaline behind the strange and fearful sensations. Then, buying into the fact that fighting them or running from them will make matters much worse.

The way to stop panic attacks from occurring is to let these strange feelings run rampant and dare them to do whatever they can do to you without running from them or fighting them. This is the only way to stop them. Just don’t give any credence to adrenaline’s deception, and anxiety will no longer be effective and it will soon leave the same way as it came on.
