Fear Of Panic Attacks – Will It Stop?

This thought is probably something that is uppermost in your mind all the times as a panic attack sufferer. The intensity of feelings that a panic attack brings can be extremely frightening. You might feel like you are going crazy and have lost control.

Panic attacks can often strike out of the blue, adding to your fear with generally no warning signs.

Knowing that an attack can hit you at any time and knowing the feelings of dread and upset, its easy to see how the fear of panic attacks can keep you in a state of fear. Yet as many as 35% of Americans have experienced at least one panic attack.

Panic attacks for some people are something to fear on an ongoing basis, they might suffer one a week or it can equally be that an attack can just come out of the blue once, if you are under some serious stress.

Still many others can go on to develope panic disorder, described as an “anxiety disorder characterized by recurring severe panic attacks. It may also include significant behavioral change lasting at least a month”. Persistant fear of panic attacks is actually a key symptom of panic disorder.

To get back to a normal daily routine and live without constant worry of panic, it is necessary to escape from the fear of panic attacks itself. This is not an easy loop to break free from without some kind of help though some people do seem to manage it.

While your lifestyle might not be the cause of your panic attacks, it can contribute to the amount of stress you are under. It is important to get the balance right and not put yourself under too much pressure. Try and have a good look at how you can improve things for yourself.

Knowing that your attacks will end at some point can help to lessen the fear of panic attacks. Whatever route you decide to take you will be free of them at some point in the future. It is up to you to decide what route to take.
